Today’s Beauty Look: Long, Eye-skimming Bangs

Posted on February 27, 2008

Rachel Bilson

The Look: Neatly arranged with slight curve and volume, Rachel Bilson’s peek-a-boo bangs suggest a Hollywood movement from sexy, beachy strands to glam, stylized manes. This style’s best on long or thin faces; long bangs can shorten the face, creating a rounder appearance.

The Trick: To keep fringe flat, straighten sections using a thin flat iron. Twirl the iron as you glide down each section to create a curved, voluminous look like Bilson’s.

 Pamela Anderson

Leotards are making a comeback in some places. Pamela Anderson has acted in The Invisible Girl. She was a superhero in the movie. It will be released on Mar. 28. Her wardrobe was a leotard and matching gloves and boots. For some reason, all superheroes wore leotards, disregarding if they were female or male. Leotards are the sexiest costumes for superheroes on screen.

Best Dressed Celebrity of the Day: Leighton Meester

Posted on February 26, 2008

Leighton Meester(left) is our Best Dressed Today. Not only is she beautiful she can dress fabulous as well. Jay Godfrey did this girl wonders.

Leighton Messter and Blake Lively

Fashion plates Leighton Meester (in Jay Godfrey) and Blake Lively helped kick off the Reebok “Freestyle World Tour” event in New York City. The new line is inspired by women from six cities around the world—Tokyo, Paris, New Delhi, Madrid, London, and NYC. While the kicks are certainly built for comfort, Meester recently revealed her shoe philosophy “I don’t care if my shoes are comfortable,” she admitted at the InStyle Oscar viewing party. “Pain is never a question with me.”

Leighton looks gorgeous from her head to her toes. Her hair is sleek and sophisticated and her Jay Godfrey outfit is  just a compliment to her already beautiful self. Maybe I am partial because I am in love with Gossip Girl, but I think I have an eye for the beautiful and then not so beautiful.

Today’s Beauty Look : Oscar Edition- Exotic Bronze Eyes

Posted on February 26, 2008

Jennifer Garner

The Look: The award for Best Eye Makeup goes to… Jennifer Garner. And Best Supporting Role? Her longtime makeup artist Paul Starr, who deftly transformed her peepers into shimmery bronze, black-rimmed and lush-lashed pieces of art.

The Trick: Attach several fake lash clusters to the outer half of each upper lashline, then line the outer half of upper lids with Bobbi Brown long-wear gel liner in Black (it’ll stay put through any tear-jerker acceptance speech). Smudge the line with a Q-tip and add another coat. Extend the line slightly up and out beyond the lashes. Sweep deep bronze cream shadow over lids, into creases, and out towards your temples. Finally, top lashes (including fakes) with two coats of rich, black mascara. You’ll be batting a thousand, even without winning an Oscar to take home.

Sharon Stone

Elton John’s hosted the 16th Annual AIDS Foundation Oscar on Sunday night at the Pacific Design Center. Sharon Stone attended this party dressed in a white suit. She made her fashion statement in a different way this time. She wore a special brooch that was a preserved specimen of a rat’s paw. It could have been worse if the paw had dark colored fur.

Posted on February 25, 2008

Compared to years before with all the dull tones of beige, gold and very safe ensambles, this years Ocasrs red carpet was fabulous with tons of suprises. From Heidi’s exaggerated popped collar, to the feather detail of Jessica Alba that was nowhere near “big bird.” Also as we watched in amazment when we saw women like Cameron Diaz, that normally look like they should be the basketball pole instead of a woman, have a curvacious bodies (Cameron Diaz). Her are the top ten show stopping women of the night, who made us on lookers stop and watch with awe.

Cate Blanchett, Heidi Klum, and Katherine Heigl

10. Cate Blanchett, who pretty much picked the most stunning maternity dress we’ve seen Katie decked herself out in Versace and Dolce while carrying the mysteriously conceived Suri.

9. Heidi Klum in Galliano, who managed to make popped collars look glamorous enough for the red carpet.

8. Katherine Heigl, whose one-strap gown was the most perfect red for a blonde with aggro issues.
