Heath Ledger’s Death Ruled Accidental
Posted on February 6, 2008I know that this is not fashion, but I feel it should be mentioned, because Heath Ledge was an influential person. He also was a very popular entertainer and he should not go untalked about.
Australian actor Heath Ledger died of an accidental overdose of prescription drugs, the New York City medical examiner’s office has ruled.

The NYC medical examiner has finished the toxicology report following the death of Heath Ledger, and has just ruled that the actor’s death was caused by “acute intoxication by the combined effects of oxycodone, hydrocodone, diazepam, temazepam, alprazolam, and doxylamine.”
The NYPD found five medications in Ledger’s apartment after his death, including anti-anxiety medications alprazolam (Xanax), diazepam (Valium) and Lorazepam (Ativan). The sleeping medication zopiclone (Lunesta) and the sedative temazepam (Restoril) — which is used by people with “debilitating insomnia” — were also found. Doxylamine is an antihistamine used in the short-term treatment of insomnia.
Finally after all this time Heath fans can feel a little better, that Heath’s death was not on purpose.
As we know the 28-year-old actor’s body was discovered in his New York apartment on January 22. Police found in the flat six types of prescription drugs, including pills to treat anxiety and insomnia. Meanwhile, Ledger’s former fiancée Michelle Williams has flown into Australia ahead of the actor’s funeral in the western city of Perth. Dressed in black, Williams was carrying the couple’s two-year-old daughter Matilda as she arrived in Perth on a Qantas flight from Los Angeles. Matilda clutched a white stuffed rabbit, as the pair was escorted from the terminal amid tight security. Williams refused to answer questions about plans for Ledger’s funeral, which is expected to take place this week. The Brokeback Mountain star’s parents, sister and other family members have also arrived back home in Perth after attending two memorial services in the US.
