Miss London, Leah Green, is a plus size model.

Leah Green, 22, of Primrose Hill, north London was a size 12 and rejected by modeling agencies because she was not the usual size zero encountered by the agencies. She has proved her critics wrong by winning a prestigious beauty pageant and becoming Miss London.
Leah graduated from The London College of Fashion and landed a job as a design assistant at the French Connection. This is when she thought she may want to take up modeling, but was let down as you can see so far.
Leah will stand a chance to win the Miss England 2008 in July, when she competes with other finalists. She told her story of how the agencies asked her to lose weight or stay unemployed. One agency said that Leah’s figure was all right but her face and overall look were not required by the agency. To be blunt the agency told her she needed to work on her “gaunt look.”
Leah wants to set an example by showing women how they can be beautiful without looking like size 0.
“I want to show people that you don’t have to be a size zero to be beautiful,” she said.
This seems like a repeat. I remember a that the same time of thing happend to Tyra Banks, later in her modeling career. She was told that she would have to be a plus size model because of her curvacious bady type. I think it shouldn’t matter, because not all people are the same. The agencies who turned Leah down are created a bad environment for the girls of the world, by only excepting size zeros as beautiful.
