The Look: Who needs a scalpel when you can take five years off your look with a simple updo? Ponytails used to be reserved for dirty strands or bad hair days. Now stars like Gabrielle Union pony up for red-carpet appearances, looking more youthful than ever with high tails.
The Trick: ”A high ponytail situated near the crown of your head draws attention to your cheekbones and pulls your skin tight from the ears,” according to celebrity hairstylist Ken Paves. Pull sections of the ponytail apart to create a swishy, flirty look.
My mother uses to do this when I was a child. She would make my ponytail so tight that I almost looked younger or maybe even a different race. Who knew that it would work for older women years later.
