Dolcis sued for defective shoes.

Posted on July 10, 2008

Sophie King, 20, broke her ankle when her high heeled shoes broke. Her left foot smashed to the ground and she was sent to hospital in an ambulance.

King sued the shoe chain, Dolcis, for selling her defective shoes. The court awarded her $14,400. Legal experts said her case could open the floodgates and many people might follow suit and sue shoe manufacturers for compensation.

Miss King bought her Dolcis heels from the high fashion High Street store. It was her first time wearing that pair of brand new shoes. She was unaware of the seriousness of her injury and continued to share the company of her friends and had a few drinks. Later, she passed out from her ankle injury and woke up in hospital.

If you have defective shoes, it might be good to seek redress for your suffering.
