The Look: Penelope Cruz is very into black eyeliner right now, reveals makeup artist Genevieve Herr, who created this subtly smoldering look. To counterbalance her heavily-rimmed eyes, Her layered two lip colors (a dusty pink and a nude) from Edward Bess to get a perfectly complementary shade of pink.
The Trick: When layering lip products, start with the darker shade, then layer with the lighter or clear hue. Layering with a nude or beige shade is a good way to tone down a too-heavy lip color.
