Retinol creams prevent wrinkles.
Posted on August 24, 2008Science has proven that certain kinds of treatment to reduce wrinkles are effective. Some methods work when they encourage the renewal of dermal collagen. Dermal collagen, the skin’s connective tissue, can reduce wrinkled skin.
Anti-aging treatments that have proven effective were the topical application of retinol, carbon dioxide laser resurfacing and the injection of hyaluronic acid.
Skin deteriorates with age. Sunlight stops the fibroblasts to produce collagen. Skin creams with retinol help the skin to make new collagen. Thus retinol creams prevent ageing.
The disadvantage of using retinol is that the skin becomes very sensitive to ultraviolet light. Retinol creams bought over the counter generally contain very low concentrations of retinol. It would be better to obtain a prescription strength retinol.
