Today’s Beauty Look: Peach Cheeks

Posted on November 8, 2008

Scarlett With peach cheeks.

The Look: Time to warm up, ladies! And by that, we don’t mean jumping jacks and jogging in place. With temperatures beginning to drop, a welcome burst of warm peach gives any alabaster face (like Scarlett Johansson’s) a touch of variance, and a peachy shade works on every skin tone.

The Trick: Even the softest blush brush can sometimes leave streaks of color. To blend away a goof, dust face powder over the area and swipe over it with a makeup wedge.

This look is great for winter to keep the color in your cheeks.

Trend911 Alert: Politics=Celebrities

Michelle poses for Vogue?

Politics and stardom should not mix. Politics are not games, especially in times like these. There is no need for someone involved in politics to be on the cover of vogue or any other magazine in its class, but now days that is just apart of the “business.”

Vogue is after Michelle Obama for a cover story. She is in high demand, not surprisingly. If she accepts the interview, Michelle will be the second first lady to ever be on the cover of Vogue.  Hillary Clinton was the first.

There is no word on if she will or has excepted, but I am sure we will know soon!

Also to spice things up ad some gold or silver jewelry to accent those outfits.

Trend Alert: Top 5-Hybrid Cars

Posted on November 4, 2008

5) Ford Escape Hybrid

Number 5 is actually hard to pick. There are several other HEVs available including Saturns Aura and Vue Greenline, the Lexus GS 450h, RX 400h and the Toyota Highlander Hybrid. But the Escape Hybrid comes at a more reasonable price than the Lexus or Highlander Hybrids, while getting the best combined mpg (34 for FWD and 31 for 4WD) of the hybrid SUVs available today. The Ford Escape Electric Hybrid is a SUV hybrid. That gives it more room and gives the driver more options for those who are just interested in a sedan. While not as popular as the Highlander Hybrid, the Escape is a compact SUV that strives to get the most it can. The 2008 model is a big step up in terms of noise control and other features, while costing less than it used to.

Today’s Beauty Look: Dramatic Lashes

Posted on November 4, 2008

Jessica looking glamorouswith her movie star eyes.

The Look90210 star Jessica Stroup is anything but a drama queen. However, her lashes are another story. “I strategically placed long and medium individual lashes along her lashline, then swept four coats of mascara on top once the lash glue was dry,” says celebrity makeup artist Amy Nadine. “The result was head-turning luscious lashes!”

This look is perfect for all those holiday parties coming up in the next few months! But that is no surprise lashes have been around forever, but now they are back in action!

The Trick: Tacky isn’t always a bad thing! Before applying false lashes, draw a line of glue onto the back of your hand. Wait until it’s tacky (about 10 seconds), then dip the root of the fake lash in. Press the root knot into the base of your lashline and hold for five seconds to make it stick.

The iPhone 3G delivers on its promises by adding critical features and sharper call quality. The iTunes App Store is pretty amazing, and the 3G support is more than welcome. Critical features still are missing, and the battery depletes quickly under heavy use, but the iPhone 3G is a big improvement over the original model.
