Iconic Fashion Trends: The Little Black Dress

What do Paris Hilton, Jennifer Aniston and Anne Hathaway have in common in the photo above? They’re all sporting a fashion trend that has never been out of style for more than 8 decades: the little black dress. The little black dress was first introduced to the public by no less than fashion pioneer Coco Chanel back during the 1920s, when all the variants of white were everwhere, and ebony was reserved for prayer and mourning. But hey, Chanel had the foresight and provided women a cheaper yet more elegant fashion alternative especially when the economy went to a downslide during the Great Depression. Black became a fad, and it came to stay. Now who says black isn’t beautiful?
