Hot or Not: Selma Blair

Another important reminder when going to special events is don’t try to look kinky. Yes, you express your creativity, but in events such as a Bulgari exhibit, expect people to be rather conservative and not progressive, or futuristic. In the end you may build a reputation rather than a lasting impression.

Okay, so let’s examine one creative dress worn by Selma Blair. It’s pink and tattered with rhinestones, and while it looks cute, I think it’s a wee bit off the occasion. She looks like she stole a dress from Barbie’s closet, although she was able to to wear it with grace. What do you think? Hot or not?

Alba Wears Prada

When attending ultra-special events that involve a keen sense of fashion and style, you should know how to flaunt your assets without looking all messed-up. You should also be able to make the best out of the basic, full colors as they will make you shine throughout the night. Just see how Jessica Alba primped herself at the Bulgari’s event. She shoved her hair into a clean updo with her bangs giving a lovely shape to her face, and her solid Prada maroon dress gave her body a stylish, yet respectable form. Jessica in this event looked feminine, yet strong and powerful at the same time. Her features may be sweet and sparkling, but you can also feel her no-nonsense persona, making an impression everyone would not forget.

At Cannes: Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt

Hollywood’s most celebrated couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie arrived in the Cannes Film Festival last week, and of course they rocked the red carpet. Angelina, who has just attended the International Criminal Court trial of a Congolese warlord charged with child slavery at The Hague, Netherlands, came in an astonishing beige gown which made her look afloat in the event. Brad meanwhile looked nothing less than stunning in a black tie. The pair really made Cannes one of the best events to go to, as it is not only a venue for art and film ingenuity-it is also a place where all the best of fashion can be found.

Fierce Footwear: Audrina Patridge

It seems like Audrina Patridge is learning how to pick the right kind of footwear now. On her shopping spree at Robertson Boulevard’s Kitson, “The Hills” regular was spotted taking a stroll via her open-toe flats which were made of 100% leather. I love her sandals, as they look perfect for the ultimate femme fatale. However, while the flats look great, Audrina’s clothes weren’t. Her black sleeveless top was a bit slouching, while her high-waisted green checkered skirt is nothing more like a tabletop. And why does Audrina have the passion for high-waist skirts? They don’t fit her, nor do they make her body look in a better shape. Oh well, I guess learning how to look good takes time, and in her case, it begins with her feet.

The Red Mess: Jordin Sparks

If Taylor Swift was able to make an impression at the BMI Awards, “Idol” alum Jordin Sparks meanwhile gave audiences an expression during the event. Jordin arrived in a red frock, which was so bright it overshadowed her orange skin, matched with unevenly dyed hair-not to mention that it looks blown by the wind. Her pumps were okay, but they didn’t match her crimson ensemble, thus she looked nothing less than a mess. I think Jordin should try getting a stylist next time she is scheduled to go to an awards night, for as we all know, celebrities are judged by their fashion during these events. And Jordin, your best accessory is your smile. Flaunt it with a nice style.

Crossover Belle: Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift is one country belle who has captivated the hearts of millions not just by her sweet face but her singing prowess. Because of this she was presented with the President’s Award at the BMI Awards. Taylor, whose known for her signature pixie face and long golden curls, accepted the award wearing a short white ruffled mini, her hair tousled in one side, her feet pampered by beige pumps. Taylor Swift knows how to impress her fans and the rest of the people around her by not wearing too much makeup, showing off her natural blush, and yes, keeping her smile sweet yet not shining bright. That’s the way country girls do it, and I love it!

Baby Bang Baby! Vanessa Hudgens

A few years ago, Vanessa Hudgens was a kid back at the High School Musical-donned in shirts and jeans. Now, the pretty young lass has grown up into a beautiful lady, with the black baby bangs, pink mini and suede knee-high boots. She really knows how to dress up and look stunning anywhere she goes, while at the same time maintaining the appropriate makeup for her fresh face. I really recommend Vanessa Hudgens as a model for all the teens who want to look fashionable-and even for the kids at heart. This girl’s fashion sense can take her to greater heights, more so in the years to come!

Eva Longoria doesn’t look anything like desperate housewife when she arrived at People En Español’s “50 Most Beautiful People.” Longoria didn’t fail to impress everyone with her sparkling mini dress which comes from Blumarine, paired with Christian Louboutin pumps.  Her natural makeup also kept the actress fresh looking all night, without any sign of stress found on her face. And yes, what made her shine all throughout? It’s her best accessory: the warm, sparkling smile.
