Bubble Gum Gal: Lily Allen

The Eighties fashion, I know, has been in the trend these days, but does that include the neon purple hair? Just check out Lily Allen in her bubblegum-pop inspired look, from hair to the flattening jumpsuit. I can’t say anything about her style today, and while my thoughts are torn between admiring her sense of creativity and getting disappointed with her choice of colors, I’d rather ask you guys to decide if this is fab or fub. We all know Lily Allen has an eye for outrageous fashion, and she’d do everything to keep herself distinct in the public eye. And of course, this Brit songstress succeeds each time she goes out wearing a her own style. Unique, yes. Iconic, no.

In Memoriam: Farrah Fawcett

She was probably the last pin-up girl in the history of Hollywood. Her smile cast a spell on the alpha-male race back then, and her sun-kissed tan became the concept of the new all-American girl. Farrah Fawcett. One of the few stars who was able to set a trend that define a whole decade, thanks to her signature fly-away, full-volume hairstyle. Men loved her, women hate her. But nonetheless her style as copied and imitated, and even revived in the succeeding fashion trends. If hairsprays were the thing of the ’60s,  in the ’70s it was the volume mousse that made it big in the business, thanks to Farrah.

She set an undying fashion. She made a new business niche. She set history. Indeed, Farrah was an angel.

We will miss you. (Farrah Fawcett, 1948-2009)

Just Sad: Vanessa Minnillo

Vanessa Minnillo, one of the most beautiful MTV VJs, looks like she’s in total gloom as she attended Reebok’s launching of their latest collection, “EasyTone.” Arriving in plain white tops and a boring pair of jeans, Vanessa looks fresh yet pale during the event. Lifeless is all I could say about her, and I don’t have to wonder why. She and her boyfriend of three years, Nick Lachey, broke up just recently. Yes, that’s a reason to be sad, given that the two really loved each other so much. But hey girl, cheer up! There’s more to life than just Nick! There still a lot of fish in the sea! You’ll feel a lot better-and look much better when you smile.

Hot High-Tops: Samantha Ronson

Samantha Ronson could have been one hot chick just like her twin, Charlotte, but she chose another road to identity. Well, she’s still hot, chick or not. Why? It’s not just because she used to date Lindsay Lohan, but Sam is wearing probably one of the hottest rubber high-tops released this year.  Reebok’s newest collection, “EasyTone,” features a wide array of rubbers of different kinds, designed in a whole new perspective. Among those who walked the shoe collection are the Kardashians, Audrina Patridge, Mel B. of the Spice Girls, and Vanessa Minillo.  But the most striking pair of Reeboks that night was Sam’s, from the design to the flashy colors, she just rocked!

How to Wear Pink Right: Blake Lively

Hot pink is one color most Hollywood celebs and trying hard fashionistas take for granted. They wear the color and then embellish themselves with various accessories which do not really make them fashionable, and sometimes even horrible. Now, to those who love wearing pink, here are some lessons you have to learn from Blake Lively.

First, if you are going to wear hot pink, get a simple cut or design. The color is loud enough to announce your presence.

Second, settle for nude makeup. Pink is an attention-starved shade. Give it as much as attention as possible by wearing subtle, nude hues which just enough to make your skin look human.

Third, the footwear should blend with your skin as well. Same idea as the second tip.

Finally, let your hair down. It’s just to give the pink dress some balance, and to give your face just enough attention signal.

Doily dresses are quite difficult to manage, but when worn properly and by the right person, it sure looks fabulous. Just check out how Cameron Diaz carried herself with her doily dress, accentuated by ravishing red accessories such as the belt and her pointed pumps. Well, who would not look chic in an Oscar dela Renta dress, even if it looks more like a doily dress, right? The white dress just suited the event the A-list Actress attended-being honored with a star in the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Cameron is truly a star, and finally belonging to the Walk of Fame is one recognition she truly deserves.

Black Attack: Audrina Patridge

If there is one celeb you can idolize when it comes to wearing the right outfits at the right events, that’s Audrina Patridge. “The Hills” regular was one of the presentors at the MuchMusic Awards held last Sunday, and she sported a form-fitting black dress. It was basic, blunt, and straight, yet it was able to show Audrina as a woman of style.  Only a few girls in Tinsel Town can portray this kind of image, and Audrina definitely is one of them. I’m not pretty sure if gal pal Lauren Conrad can look as fabulous as Audrina, given that LC’s more into colors-but if there’s anything I’m sure of, ex-bff Heidi Pratt cannot achieve this kind of appeal.

Fashion Flub: Kelly Clarkson

Okay, I have nothing against flabby girls, as possessing extra pounds is perfectly normal to almost everybody today. But to show off those flabs in an event that demands you to look your best is something questionable. Case in point: Kelly Clarkson.

Kelly, America’s first Idol, has since entered mommyhood and is currently in a rather chubby yet voluptuous figure. Her biggest mistake however, was to wear something that’s supposed to be skimpy! Kelly, who’s loved by the audiences because of her perfect hits when it comes to those high notes, can be ostracized thanks to her ill choice of wardrobe. Just check out the extra-small bandana wrapped around her chest, and those bell-bottom jeans that squeeze her thighs out. I won’t be surprised if she happens to pop a few buttons of her jeans like what happened to Jessica Simpson a few months back.
