Golden Globes Best Dressed: From Salma’s art deco to Tilda’s high-fashion gown

January 17, 2012 by Paulene

At the 69th Annual Golden Globe Awards, many stood out for having bold choices for their outfit, but only a handful picked the right dresses for the event. Check out who made it into our Golden Globes 2012 best dressed list…

Angelina Jolie – Thank God Jolie didn’t wear black for the Golden Globes because we love her in light colors. The actress surprised many with her modern choice, opting for a white Atelier Versace one-shoulder gown that featured a bold red folded detail. She paired it up with white Versace shoes and a red Christian Louboutin ‘Pharaon’ clutch.

Emma Stone – We adore Emma’s custom-made Lanvin gown, which the actress described as “It’s Lanvin. It’s purple and fuchsia. And there is an eagle.” Her tulle gown with raspberry insert, embroidered shoulders and eagle leather belt was truly what she described, but much more glamorous than it sounds. Emma paired the dress with black metallic Lanvin Opanca sandals and crystal earrings.

Tilda Swinton – Tilda can do no wrong in our eyes. At the golden globes, she looked like royalty in a light blue Haider Ackermann menswear-inspired gown. She accessorized with everything Fred Leighton – a 1940’s sapphire flower diamond with 18 kt gold coil cuff bracelet and Edwardian diamond and platinum wing brooches. Tilda finished off her look with a tousled pompadour, golden eye shadow and a raspberry pout.

Salma Hayek – Salma Hayek wore a Gucci art deco strapless gown (from the Spring 2012 collection), which featured amazing gold-and-silver bead embroidery, and embroidered glass-bead liquid skirt and beaded belt. She completed the look with black satin peep-toe heels, a black Gucci clutch and gold art deco earrings.

Nicole Kidman – Nicole looked like a rock star in her body-hugging Versace Mint studded gown (from the Spring 2012 Runway Collection). The dress fit her so well that her lean body turned into a very curvy one, and we’re loving the look on her. She finished off with just a Roger Vivier Rendezvous Clutch and a gold bracelet.
