2012 Oscars Dresses: Blues, Greens and Everything in Between

We can go on for weeks featuring amazing dresses worn on the red carpet at the 84th Annual Academy Awards (2012 Oscars) held at the Kodak Theatre the other day. For this post, we feature Glenn Close’s green gown, Penelope Cruz’s blue-gray dress, Viola Davis’ emerald green gown, Tina Fey’s midnight blue dress and Maya Rudolph’s purple gown.

Glenn Close looked amazing in a strapless forest green Zac Posen gown (from the Fall 2012 collection), which featured flower embroidery and a matching blazer with satin lapels. She added glitz with Bulgari jewels and accessorized with a Judith Leiber clutch.

Penelope Cruz opted for a custom off-shoulder Armani Privé blue-gray gown. She accessorized with a Chopard collar necklace.

Viola Davis went with a custom emerald green Vera Wang corseted gown that featured a bustline with flower applique and accordion skirt. She finished off with silver accessories.

Tina Fey was the chosen one of Carolina Herrera for the Oscars. The funny lady was dressed in a custom-made, strapless Carolina Herrera midnight blue gown with a stunning peplum detail. She paired it off with Stuart Weitzman shoes and accessorized with a Roger Vivier clutch and Bulgari jewels.

Maya Rudolph went with a purple Johanna Johanson dress, which she paired with Casadei shoes, Neil Lane jewels, and a Salvatore Ferragamo bag.
