Emmy Rossum looked amazing at the red carpet of The Metropolitan Opera’s premiere of ‘Jules Massenet’s Manon’ held at NYC’s Lincoln Center the other day, but her choice to pair her magenta dress with a darker shade of pink is just perfection.

The “Shameless” star wore a magenta Yves Saint-Laurent satin dress (from the Edition Soir 2012), which she paired with black strappy sandals and an embellished choker. Emmy Rossum accessorized with black patent Yves Saint Laurent “Muse” clutch and Chopard diamond earrings. Except for the choker (which we think even the most gorgeous models can’t pull off), her look is a breath of fresh air as many celebrities attending the event went dark colors and neutrals.

With her hair in a sleek back bun, Emmy Rossum went with neutral makeup, starting with taupe eye shadow, black eyeliner (only in the upper waterline to her upper lids), a bit of highlighter around the eyes and just a hint of blush. What we loved most about her makeup was her dark pink lipstick, which made her face pop even with such a bold dress and neutral makeup.
