Taylor Swift ACMA Makeup: Bronze Smokey Eyes

Taylor Swift was probably the best dressed of all the ladies who attended the 2012 Academy of Country Music Awards, held on Sunday in Las Vegas, Nevada. Aside from the stunning modern dress that she wore to the event, Swift’s makeup was also down to perfection.

The singer wore a sleeveless J. Mendel dress (from the Fall 2012 collection), which featured metallic gold accents and cut-out details in all the right places. We love that Taylor Swift didn’t wear her trademark princessy dresses to the event, and this edgier and modern look fits her well. She finished off with a pair of Christian Louboutin “Summerissima” crisscross platform sandals and accessorized with Lorraine Schwartz jewelry.

Aside from the dress that was way out of her comfort zone, Taylor Swift also tried on a different approach to her hair and makeup. First, she went with an ash blonde hair color, which made it look different even if she styled it down with waves and blunt bangs.

As for makeup, Taylor Swift began with heavy base fit for all the lights at a red carpet event. She then added a peachy blush color and went with matte pinkish nude lips. Her eyes were the star of her outfit, as she added a bunch of false lashes for a dramatic appeal, then used bronze eye shadow around the upper and lower lash lines. We give Taylor props for not going with her typical black-rimmed smokey eyes, but making it softer with bronze. A bit of shimmery silver on the corners of her eyes completed the look.
