If you’re thinking of dip-dyeing your hair, Ashanti gives you a great example on how to do it without being too “out there” like Lauren Conrad’s bright pink hair tips. Ashanti attended the 6th Annual DKMS Linked Against Blood Cancer Gala held at NYC’s Cipriani Wall Street alongside Nelly and coordinated her hair with her man’s tie.

The 31-year-old “The Woman You Love” singer wore a body-hugging black Tony Ward gown (from the Haute Couture Spring/Summer 2011 Collection), which featured an elaborate handmade beading on the sheer bodice, chiffon skirt with floor-length hem and an illusion neckline.

Ashanti accessorized with a crystal minaudiere and added glitz to her outfit with Lorraine Schwartz jewels, including a black diamond lily pad ring, “Ofira” black & white diamond leaf ring, black jade with diamond and white jade with diamond bangles, and a pair of white diamond & black onyx drop earrings.

The singer rocked the red-tipped locks, which she straightened out for the event and matched with her red nails and Nelly’s red tie.
