If Kristen Stewart’s red safety-pin-embellished mini dress was the show stopper at last year’s MTV Movie Awards, this year it was Christina Ricci and her wrist-watch-embellished mini.

The 32-year-old actress rocked the red carpet at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal Studios Sunday, wearing a custom-made dress designed by Project Runway winner Christian Siriano for TIMEX. The black strapless dress looked classically simple, but at closer look, it featured watch parts, gears, and Swarovski crystals from one side of her sweetheart neckline, down to the lower part of her bodice.

Asked about the sleeveless black mini he designed for Ricci, Christian Siriano tells PEOPLE, “This was a cool challenge. Working with such unconventional materials, you want to make the dress look fashion-forward and interesting without being campy.”

Stylist Brad Goreski paired her unique dress with black Casadei shoes, Neil Lane earrings, and of course, a golden Timex watch. Christina Ricci finished off with a simple bun, matte pink lips and cat-eye makeup.
