Zoe Saldana was Prabal Gurung’s muse at the 2012 CFDA Fashion Awards at NYC’s Alice Tully Hall Monday night, where the actress was one of the few ladies (alongside Mary Kate Olsen) who opted to wear black at the red carpet event.
The 33-year-old actress wore a black long-sleeved Prabal Gurung gown (from the Fall 2012 collection), which featured a dangerously low v-neckline and sheer panels on the sleeves, around the waist and on the skirt down to the hem. Zoe went without the edgy belt and wrist cuffs shown on the runway, but paired it up with the same black quadruple-strap pumps worn by the model (designed by Nicholas Kirkwood for Gurung’s Fall 2012 collection).
Zoe Saldana kept accessories simple, with only a pair of Cartier diamond earrings, a Cartier diamond and yellow gold ring and a diamond-encrusted “Panthère De Cartier” white gold wrap-around ring with emerald and onyx. She wore her hair up in a loose ‘do to add more focus to her smokey eye makeup that included a thick black eye liner with a winged tip, black and silver eyeshadow, a peachy blush on the apples of her cheeks and glossy pink lips.
