“Call Me Maybe” singer Carly Rae Jepsen joined Katy Perry on the stage as she attended yesterday’s 2012 MuchMusic awards in Canada, wearing a black leather dress and smokey eyes. If you want to recreate her makeup, hairstylist and makeup artist Veronica Chu shared how they made the look. Read on for the tutorial…
The 26-year-old Canadian singer wore a black Sachin & Babi dress (from the Fall 2012 collection) that featured two high slits on the front and paired it up with a colorful crystal-embellished DANNIJO “Betty Dee” necklace bib and black-and-gold B Brian Atwood “Campisa” pumps. She then added color to her outfit with playfully mismatched nails and a bunch of rings.
Veronica Chu shared to Fashion Magazine that she was inspired to create a “rock-‘n’-roll makeup and hair” with Carly Rae’s edgy dress. The smokey eye was made with with M.A.C Cosmetics Fluidline gel liner in “Blacktrack,” and M.A.C Cosmetics pigment in “Dark Soul.” For the highlighting around her inner eye, nose and cheeks, Veronica applied Nars highlighter in “Copacabana.” Nars blush in “Deep Throat” for the apples of Jepsen’s cheecks and Nars Pure Matte lipstick in “Bangkok” completed the look.
