There were those who wanted their hairstyles to take the spotlight (Rihanna, Miley, Pink), while there were those who wanted to make an impression in skin-tight jumpsuits (Nicki Minaj/Rita Ora)… but Taylor Swift and “The Vampire Diaries” Kat Graham both decided to go with a menswear-inspired ensemble at the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards in sexy tailored suits. Whose look do you love more?

Taylor Swift, who looked very grownup, wore an ivory J. Mendel tuxedo jacket and a matching silk crepe pin-tucked pants (both from the Spring 2012 collection). Since the jacket had a very wide plunging v-neckline, Taylor wore an off-white blouse inside that looked super chic with her tux. She finished off with a pair of golden Tom Ford strappy sandals and accessorized with statement Lorraine Schwartz earrings. A red pout with matching red nails added a pop of color to her all-white outfit.

Kat Graham, who is shifting from acting to music, wore a burgundy Jean Paul Gaultier satin tuxedo jacket with matching burgundy leggings (both from the Fall/Winter 2012 collection). She paired it up with a leopard-print bra that peaked through her jacket, which surprisingly still looked chic. Kat accessorized with a black clutch and edgy gold jewelry. She finished off with a pair of Ruthie Davis “Olympic” platform sandals with studded ankle straps (From the Fall 2012 Collection) and showed off some blinged out nails.
