At the 2012 Creative Arts Emmy Awards held at the Nokia Theatre LA Live on Saturday evening, most TV and film actresses took their black dresses out from the closet and showed it off at the red carpet. Some like Jennifer Morrison who went bold with color and Christina Hendricks in a printed gown were the minority at the event…Check out what these ladies wore to the event…
First up is Malin Akerman, who wore a black J. Mendel satin gown (from the Fall 2012 collection) that featured a sexy plunging neckline and draped details from the waist down. She paired it up with black leather Rupert Sanderson “Roxanna” sandals with a cut-out design (from the Fall 2012 collection) and finished off with gold Giuseppe Zanotti “Brighton” calfskin clutch that matched her black and gold bracelet.
Jennifer Morrison was one of the few who brought color to the red carpet. She wore a red silk-chiffon Romona Keveza gown (from the Spring 2012 collection) that featured a plunging halter neckline, an open back and a full train. She paired it up with a black Daniel Swarovski “Gala” clutch and finished off her look with an updo and a red pout.
Christina Hendricks wore a printed Jenny Packham gown (from the Fall 2012 collection), which featured black and ivory floral print all—throughout and an oversized bow with draping details on one of her shoulders. It was a busy gown, but we give her props for choosing a dress that fits her body shape and kept her cleavage hidden. She paired the floor-length gown with an emerald-cut, fully beaded Judith Leiber minaudiere and finished off her look with a curly bob and red lips.
Speaking of fitting into a dress for your body shape, Lisa Kudrow knew exactly what to wear for busty ladies like herself. Although she opted for a black Tadashi Shoji gown (from the Fall 2011 collection), the knit floor-length skirt and striped black and nude bodice with an horizontal band looked amazing on her. A black clutch, black onyx pendant necklace, smokey eyes and frosted nude lips completed her look.
As big ‘Bones’ fans, we were pretty excited to see Emily Deschanel on the red carpet. She wore a vintage black tea-length dress with a lace overlay with triangular-shaped print. Emily paired it up with a black leather belt that cinched her waist, a gold clutch and statement Graziela earrings. An updo, metallic-hued smokey eye makeup and a bold matte red lip completed her look.
Whose look did you love most?
