Sarah Jessica Parker wore a Valentino gown just as dramatic as Anne Hathaway’s gown as she made her way to the New York City 2012 Ballet Fall Gala at the David H. Koch Theater at Lincoln Center yesterday.
The 47-year-old actress wore an ivory Valentino chiffon gown (from the designer’s Fall/Winter 2012 Haute Couture collection) that featured a sheer gown with purple and silver embellished floral embroidery, a split draped open sleeves, tapered at the waist and a gorgeous stone-adorned gold belt that broke up the busy design perfectly. She arrived wearing a matching long cape worn over her shoulders, but took it off eventually on the red carpet.
Sarah Jessica Parker paired up her flowy gown with glittery purple, Christian Louboutin “Love Me” pumps (from the Fall 2012 collection) that featured a black satin bow. She continued with the floral theme by styling her hair up into an updo with a large lilac flower pinned to one side and accessorizing with gold Fred Leighton flower-inspired jewelry that included diamond drop-style earrings, a flower necklace with two crystal-embellished floral necklaces. SJP finished off her look with kohl-rimmed eyes and a nude pout.
We adore SJP’s gown choice, but only when she was not wearing the cape, which was a bit too “royal” for our taste. Check out picture #5 below as SJP rocked the dress as though she’s doing a magazine pictorial. Pretty impressive.
