Julianne Moore attended WSJ Magazine’s “Innovator of The Year Awards” at MOMA in New York City yesterday… and we were surprised to see the always-red-carpet-ready actress chose a very drab dress.

The “Carrie” actress donned a black Alexander Wang t-shirt dress (presented at the Resort 2013 collection but in white) that featured sheer sleeves and hem that runs almost near the ankles, patch pocket at the chest and a jewel neckline. We can’t see anything about this dress that we like – there’s no shape, the skirt is too long, and the sheer hem is distracting. If you saw its white variation, it pretty much looks like a hospital gown.

Julianne Moore tried to rock the dress with a pair of edgy Christian Louboutin “Col Zippe” booties (from the Fall 2012 collection) that features black leather, open-toe and gold zipper embellishment. She accessorized with a mirrored box clutch, a pair of gold bangles, two rings and simple drop-style earrings.

Wearing her hair up in a loose bun, Julianne completed her look with top-lined smokey eye makeup and glossy pink lips.
