A celebration of Carole King and her music to benefit Paul Newman’s The Painted Turtle Camp was held Tuesday night at the Dolby Theatre, and Katy Perry attended the event to honor the legendary singer wearing a bright green floor-length dress.
The 28-year-old singer walked the blue carpet wearing a satin green Yves Saint Laurent strapless dress that featured rows of crystal and beads embellished on the bodice down to the waist, and a floor-length skirt with thigh-high slit at the side. Peeking in between her dress’ slit is a pair of satin blush gold Giuseppe Zanotti “d’Orsay” platform sandals (from the Fall 2011 collection) designed with ankle straps and peep-toes.
Katy Perry added some more sparkles to her ensemble, as she wore a shimmering Amrapali “Victorian” rose cut diamond necklace with a matching ring, and a pair of emerald green and gold drop-style earrings. She then finished off her look by wearing her black hair down with thick curls cascading over one shoulder. Rose pink matte lipstick, a hint of pink blush, and smokey brown eye makeup with double lashes completed her look.
We think Katy pulled off the bright green dress perfectly. Fortunately for her the event didn’t go with a traditional red carpet, but a blue one, so she didn’t look Christmas-y.
